My daughter was gifted with a couple of these stunning floral print tops by Brit designer Penelope Meachin of Honeychild last summer, and I immediately went to track them down online but to no avail, until now.

Mixing together Liberty’s lawn cotton prints for an eclectic look, the tops feature an elasticated gathering on the neck and sleeves, with an A-line shape and gathered waist, these look really stunning. My daughter rocks them with jeans/trousers – slip a long sleeved tee underneath for chilly days.

I’m a huge fan of Danish eco friendly label Green Cotton. Featuring eclectic prints with cool motifs, yummy colourways, and edgy style, I only wish more of it would come into the UK. In the meantime, Lula Sapphire have a few pieces including their divine striped cardi’s, £36 – the dreamy blue is definitely unisex – as well as the short sleeve bodysuits, £14.95, with their classic raindrop print mixed with peacocks and sausage dog motifs. Sizes start from 3-6 up to 18 months for bodysuits and from 9 months to 2 years for the cardigans. Loving the mix of apricot and purple!

As the very unpredictable weather continues, I feel zero shame in featuring a snowsuit at the end of February! Whilst trying to find out where decent boy clothing on the high street hides, I unearthed this sleek black snowsuit at Adams – incidentally this was about the extent of the cool ‘boy’ stuff….

With feet (honestly the amount of snowsuits without feet is a tad boggling), integrated mitttens, a hood, and padded for comfort, I wouldn’t mind one myself! It’s in the boys section (not sure what that’s all about as it looks unisex to me) and is a very wallet friendly £17.99 in sizes from tiny baby up to 9-12 months.

A few days ago I made my regular visit to Bubble London, the kids fashion trade show. Whilst I’m near blind with clothes by the time I leave, I always find a few favourites that persistently pop into my head after the show and found myself hankering for one of these t-shirts by funky, vintage style kidswear designer, Felicity Lynch of Let Them Eat Cake. She’s joined forces with talented artists, Stella Vine and Annie Kevans so that they can raise money for the Environmental Justice Foundation charity (EJF). Featuring stunning illustrations of icons, Britney Spears (loving the Mickey Mouse Club ears and the stark innocence…) and Yoko Ono and John Lennon, they’re handprinted onto ethical t-shirts by American Apparel. I became instantly enamoured with San Francisco based ethical kids clothing company Speesees when I laid eyes on their vivid bodysuits, t-shirts, dresses, bundlers, and jumpsuits. Using organic textiles and fair trade practices, they have a kicking collection that has plenty of bold.

My personal favourite are their Prance t-shirts which has a wonderful repeat of a horse with contrasting trim for high standout. The bodysuits are gorgeous too with motifs including the hummingbird shown as well as a horse. I’m also very much feeling their red corduroy wrapover dress, and I’m hoping that we get to see some more of the brand on our shores.

Ethically produced organic cotton clothing featuring animals is certainly proving to be a bit of a hot trend (see Animal Tails), and over at Bambino Goodies, we’ve been loving Belle & Dean’s gorgeous organic bodysuits and tee’s ever since we featured them last year. Ethically produced in a small factory in Singapore, each piece features beautiful black and white illustrations of endangered species.

Choose from a white or natural base, short (£8), long (£9) or no sleeves (£7.50) and weird and wonderful animals, from Hugh’s hedgehog to the pygmy elephant, via, my personal favourite, the Africa giraffe. I’m loving these handmade, hardwearing denim pinafores by a relatively new label, Oxfordshire based Little Fish. The gorgeous chunky buttons hide practical velcro fastenings, plus the linings, cute pocket, and matching handbags which can be turned quickly into little backpacks, make these a firm favourite at Style Bambino. They’re sized for age 3 so smaller toddlers do miss out – extend the wear by wearing as a tunic over leggings.
